The structure of the floor is a component of several materials, therefore static and dynamic floor loads are taken into account during the design phase. The required strength of each material used must also be assessed. Floors in contact with unheated spaces, especially those on the ground, should be thermally insulated, otherwise they may contribute to significant heat loss and to the deterioration of building comfort.

The thermal insulation of the floor made of HOCH XPS extruded polystyrene panels reduces heat loss inside the room as well as providing a solid foundation for the floor structure.

Depending on the expected strength and insulation parameters, HOCH XPS boards can be used for thermal insulation of floors subjected to heavy loads, e.g. in residential buildings, garages, parking lots, warehouses, cold stores, etc.
